Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a single vehicle motor vehicle crash that occurred on April 30, 2011 at approximately 10:52 PM. The crash occurred on SR 99 (Rogue River Highway) near milepost 3.5. The area is located approximately 2 miles south of Grants Pass.

CHARLES THOMAS, age 59, of Gold Hill was driving his 1948 Studebaker pick-up southbound on SR99 when he struck a pedestrian that was in the lane of travel. The pedestrian died as a result of the crash.

The pedestrian was identified as RALPH DUNCAN, age 55, of Days Creek. DUNCAN was dressed in dark clothing.

Josephine County Sheriff's Department, Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, American Medical Response Ambulance, and ODOT all provided assistance at the scene.
