PORTLAND, Oregon - Portland police are investigating a shooting about two blocks from Marshall High School in the 8500 block of Southeast Bush Street in Portland just after 9 a.m., this morning. The school was placed in lockout.

No other information has been released.

Marshall High School opened on September 6, 1960, and is named for John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the United States.

According to Wikipedia.com, the student population is 45% white, 23% Latino, 16% Asian/Pacific Islander, and 10% African American.The Marshall boundaries contain more potential students than any other in the Portland area, though the Marshall enrollment is only 751 students.In 2009, 9% of the students transferred into the school.
