EUGENE, Oregon - Eugene police have arrested a nursing home employee and charged him with sexually abusing a female residents.

Robert Price was arrested after Valley West Health Care Center called police to report a sex abuse. The alleged sex abuse is reported to have occurred December 22 at the west Eugene facility.

Price is charged with having sexual contact with a woman without consent because she has been declared mentally defective, mentally incapacitated and physically helpless.

On December 30th, Price entered a not guilty plea to first degree sex abuse. Police currently believe there are no other victims.

Director of the Valley West facility Matt Preston made this prepared statement:

"Valley West Health Care Center is cooperating with the local police department in an investigation of an alleged attempted sexual assault of one of its female residents by a male associate," Preston wrote. "Valley West Health Care Center performs a background check on every person that we hire to assure that our residents receive the best care possible."
