The investigation reveals that she was in the passenger seat of the pictured 1995 Ford Mustang convertible when it crashed into a Freightliner tractor with a box trailer. Evidence at the scene indicated the Mustang was traveling west on Northeast Cornfoot Road at a high rate of speed and collided with the broadside of the trailer, in front of the rear wheels, as it was pulling out of a driveway. The Mustang went under the trailer and came out the other side.
The passenger of the Mustang Jamie R. Pallviny-Brown, was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Mustang, a 56-year old male, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the semi, a 40-year-old male, was not hurt. He remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. No charges have been filed, but the investigation is continuing.
This is the 24th traffic related fatality for 2021 in the City of Portland, which is an 85% increase over this time last year.
The crash closed a road adjacent to Portland International Airport. Police officers responded to the 5100 block of Northeast Cornfoot Road. When they arrived they located Pallviny-Brown.
