PORTLAND, Oregon - On April 5, 2021, at about 1:40 a.m., Portland Police received a call regarding a dead body on the sidewalk near Southwest Morrison Street and Southwest 20th Avenue. Portland Fire and Rescue were stopped by a witness to inform Rescue about the dead body. The man was later identified as 53-year-old Jack Dekker.

Police arrived and were directed to the body. Police and established a crime scene in front of Providence Park. Police Homicide Detectives responded to begin an investigation. The investigation is ongoing. An autopsy of Jack Dekker will be scheduled later. The Oregon State Medical Examiner's office will determine cause and manner of death. Mr. Dekker's next of kin has asked for privacy at this time..
