The suspects were located and contacted near the 300 Block of N Settlemier Avenue where they ran from police and were eventually detained. During the investigation, officers recovered a glock replica airsoft gun that the juvenile arrestee had concealed in a fanny pack during the theft.

The two suspects were arrested for: Theft in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. The juvenile suspect had an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Alprazolam (Xanax).

WPD urges youth to understand that the realistic airsoft gun could have easily been mistaken as a real firearm, and also urges parents to be aware of their children's activities.
