On Saturday, March 13, 2021, at 10:42 p.m., Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of someone shooting a gun at the Farmington Townhome apartments at 18745 SW Farmington Rd. in the community of Aloha.

A neighbor called 911 to report hearing a gunshot and when deputies arrived, they spoke with two intoxicated men who lived at the apartment in question. Deputies saw a gun inside the apartment on the kitchen table. When deputies checked the serial number on the gun, they learned it had been stolen in Portland in October 2020.

Deputies arrested 21-year-old Thomas D. Coupland for unlawful use of a weapon, recklessly endangering another person, and theft in the first degree for stealing the gun.
