Oregon State University begins sixth round of coronavirus testing

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State University is getting ready for another round of door-to-door coronavirus testing this weekend.

They have been testing since April 2020, collecting samples from people in their homes as well as wastewater.

"Quite frankly, if you don't do testing, you don't have a sense of the presence of asymptomatic virus in your community," said Steve Clark, Vice President - University Relations & Marketing. "So what we've been able to do by testing is respond with contact tracing and collaboration with Benton county."

This will be Oregon State University's sixth round of trace sampling in Corvallis.

The program has been so successful, parts of the program has expanded to other cities, including Eugene and Bend, to help coronavirus in those areas. Read full story
