Sheldon High School junior one of two Oregon youth chosen for US Senate Youth Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) announced in February that a Sheldon High School junior, Nabikshya Rayamajhi, is one of just two Oregon youth chosen to represent the state in the 2021 program.

Rayamajhi and fellow Oregon student McKenna JLynn Raade will join Senator Ron Wyden and Senator Jeff Merkley in representing Oregon during the 59th annual USSYP Washington Week, to be held March 14–17, 2021.

McKenna Raade of Cottage Grove and Nabikshya Rayamajhi of Eugene were selected from among the state's top student leaders to be part of the 104 national student delegation who will each also receive a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate study. Read full story
