SALEM, Ore. -- The Oregon Symphony previewed it's 2021-2022 season and it's 125th anniversary celebration March 9,. With new acoustics in its Portland and Salem locations, the symphony has programming planned to incorporate classics and Disney favorites and the theme is recognizing the heritage of it's composers and soloists from all around the world.

The President and CEO of the Oregon symphony, Scott Showalter, says by the time the orchestra gather's in October, it will have been over a year since they've been able to play together in person. "The health and safety of our musicians, staff, and all of our patrons remains our top priority, so we know full well going into next season we're not only looking at the guidelines by the CDC, governor, and OHA, but we're ensuring the industry's highest standards for disinfections."

Schowalter says the symphony has every reason to believe the live in person season beginning in the next few months will be safe for musicians and those coming to listen.
