Stabbing Leaves Victim With Serious Injuries, Suspect Arrested

On Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 5:17a.m., North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 8000 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. Officers arrived and located a victim with multiple stab wounds. The adult male victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries.
Officers learned that the suspect walked away after the attack. They located him nearby and he was detained by officers. A knife believed to be the weapon used in the assault was recovered as evidence (photo).
Assault detectives responded to investigate. They learned that the suspect approached the victim in the drive-through of the restaurant, where the victim was ordering his breakfast. The suspect suddenly and without provocation attacked the customer and stabbed him multiple times. At arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a user amount of methamphetamine.
Aaron J. Knight, 45, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Assault in the Second Degree.
