3 Grants Pass women arrested in assault that sent 19-year-old girl to hospital

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety (GPDPS) has announced that it has arrested 3 women on charges relating to the assault of a 19-year-old girl who is hospitalized with a serious head injury as a result.

The incident took place Sunday, Nov 15 at about 6:55 am. GPDPS received a call from Three Rivers Medical Center noting that the victim, who is a Grants Pass resident, was being treated for a serious head injury in the emergency room.

According to a press release from the department, the assault reportedly took place in the 900 block of NE D Street in Grants Pass.

GPDPS Patrol Officers responded to TRMC to begin an investigation. The victim was in stable condition and subsequently transported to a Eugene area hospital for further treatment.

During the course of the investigation, Grants Pass residents Yasmine McGinnis, Zahira Azamar and Morgan Riley, all 23-years-old were identified as the suspects.

GPDPS Patrol Officers located McGinnis and Azamar and placed them in custody. After interviews were completed, McGinnis and Azamar were lodged at the Josephine County Adult Jail on the charge of Assault in the Second Degree. Riley later turned herself in and was also arrested and lodged for Assault in the Second Degree.
