WASHINGTON COUNTY - On Friday, at about 3 PM, a cement truck an honda collided near SW Hillsboro Highway and SW Morilon Lane. Several witnesses say the accident was between a green 1998 Honda Civic and cement-mixer truck. Deputies arrived on the scene to discover that the driver of the Honda was dead.

Apparently the Honda was traveling south on SW Hillsboro Highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle after failing to negotiate a curve. The driver of the cement truck was unable to stop and the vehicles collided. Deputies believe that the Honda was speeding prior to the crash.

The driver of the Honda was identified as 16-year-old Manuel Perez-Luis, of Hillsboro. Perez-Luis' family has been notified of his death. The driver of the cement truck was not injured and cooperated with investigators.
