To receive an award, the City's CAFR is judged by an impartial panel through the Government Finance Officers Association that determines if the CAFR meets the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The City of Newberg has received the Certificate of Achievement 26 of the last 28 years. This year, and for many years prior, the City has received the desired goal of scoring "proficient" in all scoring categories. The preparation of the CAFR consists of the efforts of many individuals inside the City of Newberg and particularly, the Finance Department, who authors and edits the CAFR.
The City of Newberg is honored to receive this recognition and continues to strive to publish financial reports that offer transparency to our community.
