SEASIDE, Oregon - Firefighters found the remains of 69-year-old Stephen Scott Penwarden originally of Seaside after a fire destroyed the home he occupied.

Fire Investigation Team worked throughout the morning and early afternoon hours of February 24 and located the remains of a single, male victim.

Investigators believe the victim was the sole occupant of the single-family home and only one inside at the time the blaze occurred. Next of kin has been notified.

Seaside Fire & Rescue responded to the property where the two-story home was fully ablaze and threatening close properties, and escalated into a three-alarm fire.
