PORTLAND, Oregon - The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Oregon, is asking for the public's help to identify the driver involved in a hit and run crash.

On Saturday September 21, 2019, at approximately 2:16 a.m., an unidentified suspect driving a red vehicle crashed into a 35-year-old male riding a moped, in the intersection of Northeast 9th Avenue and Broadway. The unidentified suspect was driving northbound on 9th Avenue then turned westbound onto Broadway, striking the moped rider who was driving southbound on 9th Avenue.

The driver of the red vehicle did not stop and has not come forward to law enforcement.

The moped rider suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a red 1996 to 2002 Toyota Camry and may have front end damage and a smashed windshield as a result of the hit and run crash.

Surveillance video of the crash is being released to aid in this investigation. Warning -- this video may be upsetting to view as it shows the crash and the victim being launched over the suspect vehicle.
