Man dies in single vehicle crash on Hwy 7 in Baker County

On Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at approximately 3:30 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 7 near mile post 44.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota SR5, operated by Evan Simonski-Davis (25) of Baker City, was southbound on Hwy 7 when it left the roadway, struck a rock, and then rolled into a canal.
Simonski-Davis sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Speed and failing to use seat belt are being investigated as possible contributing factors.
