Train Vs. Tow truck closes SE Harmony Road at SE Railroad Avenue

On 1/28/2019 at 6:24 pm, Milwaukie Police responded to the intersection of SE Harmony Road and SE Railroad Avenue regarding a Union Pacific Train Vs. Empire Towing Co. tow truck crash. There were no injuries due to the crash, and the tow truck has been removed from the intersection.

At the time of the crash, the tow truck driver, 37-year-old Shayne Davis was attempting to hook up a disabled vehicle on SE Harmony Road, just South of the train tracks. Mr. Davis had his tow truck parked on the railroad tracks while doing so.

Due to the crash, the railroad arms are down/destroyed and currently not functioning properly. Union Pacific Railroad has been notified and will be responding to the scene.

Currently the intersection for North and South bound travel South of SE Railroad Avenue is closed. the Drivers should expect significant delays at this intersection, until Union Pacific Railroad has inspected the tracks and repaired the arms.

Milwaukie Police Department is requesting drivers avoid this intersection and use alternative routes to their destination. Mr. Davis was transported to Clackamas County Jail for an outstanding warrant.
