Deputies spoke to the victim and other witnesses, and determined that the victim had been stopped at the red light from westbound SW Scholls Ferry Road waiting for the left turn light onto SW Roy Rogers Road. There was an Infinity sedan next to her in the adjacent left turn lane. She said the car had been tailgating her prior to stopping at the light. The lane the suspect vehicle was in quickly ends after the turn.
Once the light turned green, the suspect quickly accelerated, and tried to pull ahead of the victim. In doing so, he struck the passenger side of the victim's Ford Explorer and forced her off the road. The suspect slid into the embankment and then continued south on Roy Rogers Road without stopping. The victim's Explorer rolled and struck a mail box before coming to rest on its wheels in the ditch.
While deputies were at the scene investigating the crash, they were contacted by a witness who gave them information about the driver of the suspect vehicle. They responded to the 12200 block of SW Morning Hill Drive in Tigard and contacted 25-year-old Wesley Adam Lacambra. Mr. Lacambra admitted to driving the damaged 1995 Infinity J30 that was in his driveway. Mr. Lacambra was arrested for Hit and Run, Assault 4, DUII, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Mischief. He was later booked into the Washington County Jail.
The victim was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
