PORTLAND, Oregon - After an agument a man was stabbed in the chest this afternoon just after 5 PM. Portland police responded to at the Southwest 4th and Morrison westbound MAX platform.

Officers arrived and learned that an argument began on the train between the victim and the suspect and the suspect stabbed the victim in the chest. The suspect exited the train on Southwest 2nd Avenue. The suspect is described as a black male adult.

The victim has been taken to an area hospital and is in unknown condition. The victim is an adult male.

Westbound MAX service has been stopped temporarily as investigators interview witnesses.
