PORTLAND - Heavy rainfall forced the closer of southeast 92nd Avenue Saturday to all traffic between SE Powell Blvd and Division Street due to high water.

Barricades and street closure signs were in place and will remain until as the rainfall continues.

More rain is expected today and Monday. Transportation crews will continue working around the clock to clear catch basins to help water drain from streets. As such, the public is being advised to use an alternate route.

Disobeying a barricade that has a street closure or other safety message is a Class B violation according to the Oregon Vehicle Code," Portland officials report, "and may result in a $360 fine."
