PORTLAND, Ore. — Governor Kate Brown warned Oregon residents Friday not to get complacent when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Don't let the vaccines and the sunny spring weather give us the false sense that we're in the clear," she said. "Because we're not."
The warning is a stark contrast to the rising optimism about where things stand in Oregon. Many residents and business owners are feeling a sense of relief as we head toward warmer weather and the idea of increased freedom from virus restrictions.
"I do feel the optimism of vaccines happening, personally and for my team and the general community," said Aaron Baumhackl, owner of Solstice Pizza in Hood River.
