MEDFORD, Oregon - The father of four young children who were locked in a filthy bedroom in Medford pleaded guilty Tuesday to child neglect.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jeramy Allen Hon was sentenced Tuesday in Jackson County Circuit Court to five days in jail, with credit for time served. Criminal mistreatment charges were dismissed in a plea agreement.

A tip in November led police to check the home where they found the children — ages 7 months to 4 years — had been left in a locked room where a heater vent was used as a toilet. The children were taken into the custody of the Department of Human Services.

The mother, 23-year-old Kassandra Lynn Regain, pleaded not guilty to child neglect and criminal mistreatment charges and is awaiting trial.
