The fire at Cascades Gateway Park has been extinguished, and the entrance to the park is now open. There was no one identified with injuries from the initial explosion or fire. The cause of the explosion and associated fire is unknown at this time. Police and Fire Department personnel are clear from the scene at Cascades Gateway Park.

At 10:26am, Salem Police and Fire departments responded to multiple reports of explosions in the woodline at Cascades Gateway park. There was an initial fire associated with the explosions that has now be extinguished by Salem Fire Department personnel. Investigators are on scene now and officers are assisting fire with a search of the area. Updates will be provided as investigators learn more about the situation. All traffic into the park is blocked at the entrance off of Turner Road SE.
