Sprinklers helped control a fire Sunday in a waste paper recycling facility near Beaverton. But the fire went to two alarms as Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue called in firefighters from Portland to help douse hot spots in a mound of paper.
The department says firefighters used thermal imaging technology to locate the area where the fire was burning. They also had to cut holes in the roof of the Far West Fibers building to help clear smoke.
Firefighters worked from opposite sides of the building to saturate the paper.
There were no injuries. Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
