Shooting Investigation Underway in Northeast Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon - On New Years Day at 3:59 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the 3500 Block of Northeast 148th Avenue on a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported by ambulance to an area hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Officers have secured the crime scene and the Gun Violence Reduction Team (GVRT) is responding to assist in the investigation.

No arrests have been made in connection with this shooting.

The intersection of Northeast 148th Avenue and Northeast Fremont Street is closed in all directions.

The PIO is not responding to the scene.

An update will be provided if appropriate for the investigation. There is not an estimated time on when that update will be provided.
