CASE 19-5122 – On 7/5/2019 at approximately 6:22am, Milwaukie Police responded to a roll-over crash on SE Railroad Avenue Near SE Lamplighter Avenue involving a 2017 Toyota Prius and 2010 Yamaha motorcycle. When Police arrived, they learned the driver of the Prius, 37-year-old Scott Johnson, was headed westbound on SE Railroad Avenue when an "unmanned - running motorcycle" shot out onto SE Railroad Avenue from SE Lamplighter Avenue. Mr. Johnson tried to avoid the collision with the motorcycle, resulting in a loss of control of his vehicle and roll-over. Mr. Johnson was uninjured in the event. This case is being treated as a hit and run and is still under investigation.

CASE 19-5131 – on 7/5/2019 at approximately 11:53 am, Milwaukie Police responded to a roll-over crash involving a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer at, 2406 SE Harrison Street Milwaukie, Oregon (Spring Creek Apartments). The Blazer landed upside down on the Light Rail tracks, halting both Light Rail and Union Pacific Rail Road travel in the area for approximately 45 minutes. When Police arrived on scene, they discovered the Blazer's owner, 29-year-old Arielle Brewer had driven in reverse through fencing, resulting in the vehicle dropping off a retaining wall approximately 15 feet above the tracks. Mrs. Brewer had minor scrapes and refused medical treatment beyond what was provided on scene. Officers learned Mrs. Brewer was having a male friend help her fix the brakes on the Blazer at the time of the crash. The Blazer was removed from the tracks and both Light Rail and Union Pacific Railroad travel returned to normal. No citations were issued.
