PORTLAND, Oregon - On Friday, May 3, 2019 at 3:58 P.M., East Precinct officers responded to a report of shots being fired in the Hazelwood Neighborhood. Upon arrival, they located evidence of gunfire in a shopping center parking lot in the 10000 block of Northeast Halsey Street. Several parked cars had bullet strikes.

The Gun Violence Reduction Team responded and assumed the investigation. Witnesses reported seeing multiple males, at least one armed with a gun, running after another group of males.

As of yet, no victims have come forward.

Preliminary information suggests that the people involved were running through the parking lot and were not in the shopping center before the shooting. However, investigators are still gathering information. They would like to hear from any witnesses that have not been in contact with police about this incident.
