PORTLAND, Oregon - On Sunday, November 18, 2018, at 2:07 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Northeast 2nd Avenue and Northeast Schuyler Street on the report that of a person suffering a stab wound was at a nearby business.
Officers and emergency medical personnel arrived and located an adult male victim suffering from what was believed to be a serious but non-life-threatening stab wound. Community members were providing the victim emergency first aid. Emergency medical responders provided the injured man medical aid and transported him to a Portland area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Responding officers performed a neighborhood search with the assistance of a police canine team, but the suspect at this time the suspect has not been. The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, 20 to 30-years-old, 6'00 to 6'6" tall, wearing all black and armed with a knife.
Based on information learned in the initial investigation, officers believe the victim was volunteering at a program housed in the The Well Community Church, located at 1734 Northeast 1st Avenue, when he was stabbed by the suspect. After the victim was stabbed he contacted people at a business near Northeast 2nd Avenue and Northeast Schuyler Street and requested help.
