Driver Arrested For DUI, Pedestrian in Critical Condition

PORTLAND, Oregon - The driver who hit a pedestrian near the intersection of Southeast 146th Avenue and Southeast Stark Street has been arrested by Portland police.

Police believe 64-year-old William C. Leptich was the driver of a Ford F-150 and was driving while intoxicanted. He was arrested and taken to the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Assault in the Third Degree, and Reckless Driving. 

The injured pedestrian was taken to a hospital by ambulance and remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment for injuries suffered during the crash.
