Residential Hillsboro Woodshop Heavily Damaged

HILLSBORO, Oregon - Just before 1pm today a residential fire on the 900 block of NE Queens Ln.consumed a single story structure with heavy smoke and flames extending into the air above a woodworking shop.

The shop had been added onto the back of an attached garage. Firefighters found extensive fire in the woodshop and focused on containing the fire to that area. Additional fire units worked to protect the garage and home from further heat and smoke damage.

A 2nd alarm with firefighting crews helped put out the fire.

A woman in the house had noticed smoke then left the house and called 9-1-1.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and damage estimate has not yet been estimated to the public.

Thirty-one Hillsboro Fire personnel with the assistance of firefighters from Cornelius Fire, Forest Grove Fire and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to the fire. No firefighter injuries were reported.
