On 01/15/18 at approximately 12:23 pm, a concerned citizen called 911 and reported a reckless driver on Highway 22 traveling westbound. A Deputy from the Sheriff's Office was quite some distance behind the vehicle and requested Grand Ronde Tribal Police to assist in locating the vehicle. The Oregon State Police also had a Trooper from the McMinnville office in the area. Additional updates on the vehicles were provided and Grand Ronde Tribal Police located and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Shortly thereafter a Deputy from the Sheriff's Office arrived as well as the OSP Trooper.

During the course of the traffic stop and investigation the driver, Mr. David Edie, was arrested for DUII. Further investigation was conducted and a drug detection K-9 from Newberg Police Department responded to the scene. The K-9 alerted to the bags in the vehicle and during a subsequent search of those bags approximately ?1/4 lb. of Methamphetamine was located. A stolen handgun was also located with the Methamphetamine. $500 was also seized from Mr. Edie.
