Man shot in Portland's Montavilla Neighborhood

PORTLAND, Oregon - On Thursday October 12, 2017 at 4:36 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the Jamboree Apartments, located at 9219 Southeast Stark Street, on the report of a shooting.

As officers responded to the location, they learned one person had been shot.

Officers arrived at the apartment complex and ensured the location was safe while an officer applied a tourniquet to an injured man. Once officers determined the suspects were not at the apartment, they immediately requested emergency medical responders enter the apartment and provide medical aid to the injured man.

The man was transported to an area hospital by ambulance with what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury.

There is no suspect information to provide at this time.

Investigators do not believe there is a danger to the public in connection with this shooting.

Based on information learned during the investigation, the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Robbery Detail has responded to assist with the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division have also responded to the scene to assist with this investigation.
