Three People Arrested for Armed Robbery in Northeast Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon On Thursday September 7, 2017, at 10:09 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the Verizon Wireless Store, located at 3004 Northeast Broadway, on the report of an armed robbery.

As officers responded they learned three suspects had entered the store wearing masks and at least one of the suspects possessed a firearm.

Officers arrived on scene and spoke with Verizon Wireless Store employees. The employees provided officers with the suspects' descriptions. Officers also learned the suspects demanded access to items in the store and after obtaining a large quantity of merchandise, the suspects left the store.

While officers performed a neighborhood search for the suspects, the suspects were located driving a vehicle in Northeast Portland. Officers performed a high risk traffic stop on the vehicle and its occupants. During the traffic stop officers took three suspects into custody, located a firearm, and recovered stolen merchandise.

The three suspects were identified as 20-year-old Harold D. Edwards III, 20-year-old Keyshawn D. Thomas, and 19-year-old Fran T. Hernandez-Fowlkes. All three were lodged into the Multnomah County Jail. Edwards was charged with two counts each of Robbery in the First Degree, Robbery in the Second Degree and Kidnap in the First Degree. Thomas was charged with two counts each of Robbery in the First Degree and Robbery in the Second Degree. Hernandez-Fowlkes was charged with three counts of Theft in the First Degree, two counts of Robbery in the First Degree, two counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, two counts of Kidnap in the First Degree and an outstanding warrant.
