Three Day Heat Wave For Pacific Northwest
by Kent Masterson - The Oregon Herald

PORTLAND, Oregon - A heat advisory is in effect from today through Simday with a high expected of 102 on Sunday. The national weather service just has an excessive heat 'watch' for Saturday and Sunday. I expect that to be upgraded to a heat advisory later today or tomorrow.

92 degrees today is the beginning of the extreme hot weather. A heat wave is 3 consecutive days or more with over 90 degree weather. Saturday and Sunday should break record highs with 100 on Saturday (the old record was 96 set back in 1992). Sunday we should reach 102 and the old record was 101 set in 2006. The heat wave ends on Monday as the temperature drops to 86 with continued sunshine. Then a nice Tuesday - Thursday with highs in the mid 70s under partly cloud skies.
