Vancouver, Wash. -- On June 6, 2017, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to a bank robbery at the IQ Credit Union at 15705 NE Fourth Plain Blvd. A male subject, wearing a ski mask ran into the bank carrying a rifle and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled the bank and was seen getting into a white vehicle. Responding officers saw the white vehicle in a nearby parking lot and saw the suspect get into a second vehicle and drive away. Officers attempted a traffic stop and a pursuit ensued. Officers then initiated a PIT maneuver with the suspect vehicle and shots were exchanged between the suspect and the officers. The suspect was shot and is deceased. No officers or civilians were injured. Detectives do not believe there are any outstanding suspects and there is no threat to the public.

The three involved officers, all with the Vancouver Police Department, are currently on Critical Incident Leave.

Detectives from the Regional Major Crimes Team are conducting the investigation into the officer involved shooting.

Detectives will be processing the three crime scenes (credit union, vehicle exchange location and shooting location) for several hours. The only anticipated traffic impacts will be in the area of NE 182nd Ave/NE 73rd Street where road closure barricades will remain in place while detectives are on scene.
