PORTLAND, Oregon - On Wednesday May 31, 2017, Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives arrested a suspect in a 2015 homicide. A second suspect was already in custody at a federal facility.

31-year-old Gary Lonell Black Jr was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Additionally, Black is being held on a parole violation for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

25-year-old Cortez Treandre Wade, also indicted for murder, is in federal custody on unrelated charges.

This investigation started on April 14, 2015, at 12:18 a.m., when North Precinct officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots heard in the area Northeast Dekum Street and Claremont Avenue.

Arriving officers began checking the area, including Woodlawn Park, when a caller reported a person down in a residential parking lot in the 6800 block of Northeast Claremont Avenue.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the victim, 24-year-old D'Andre Dickerson, and determined that he was deceased after being shot multiple times. Dickerson was a resident of Seattle, Washington.

Over the past two years, Homicide detectives have investigated the murder, leading to indictments by a Multnomah County Grand Jury.
