TOLEDO, Oregon - On May 28, 2017, at approximately 10:14 am, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was dispatched on the report of a burglary in progress. The report was said to be occurring in the area of E. Thissell Road in Tidewater, Oregon. The caller reported to dispatch that they had interrupted a male subject rummaging through their barn on the property. The male subject was reported to be wearing a ski mask and dark clothing. The caller called 911 and initiated police response. The husband of the caller was able to follow the male on a 4-wheeler as he ran off the property. The suspect was reported to be carrying bags of stolen property.

The suspect was followed down the road and into a nearby field. Deputy Carter responded to the area where he was met by two witnesses. The witnesses pointed out where they had last seen the male running and Deputy Carter found the suspect attempting to hide in the nearby brush.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was identified as 42 year old Brandon Allen Lyons of Toledo, OR. The investigation reveled that Mr. Lyons had unlawfully entered the shop, an RV and two other cargo trailers on the victim's property. He had stolen close to 100 items which were all recovered and returned to the victim.

Mr. Lyons was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Burglary II, Theft I, Criminal Trespass II, Unlawful Entry Motor Vehicle, Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Criminal Impersonation. His bail was set at $237,500.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office would like to thank all of our community partners. This case is another example of the trust and communication between the Sheriff's Office and the community. Without the watchful eyes and cooperation of witnesses in the area, the quick apprehension of the suspect would not have been possible. The quick resolution to this case also contributed to the recovery of the stolen property and lessened the impact an incident like this has on victims.
