Woman arrested for shooting fiream from her home in Kelso

KELSO, Washington - This morning on Memorial Day at about 4 AM, Kelso Police responded to 1107 S. 7th Avenue in Kelso for a report of someone shooting from within that residence. Bullets were reported to have struck an adjacent residence. When Officers from the Kelso Police Department arrived, along with Deputies from the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office and Longview Police Officers, a firearm could be heard being discharged inside the residence and bullets could be heard leaving the residence.

Lower Columbia SWAT was called out and during the next two hours the suspect inside continued to fire rounds from within the house. After two hours the suspect, later identified as the homeowner, 53 year old Dellie Wentz, exited the residence and surrendered.

Wentz was booked into CCSO Jail for Malicious Mischief 2nd, Reckless Endangerment and Aiming and Discharging of a Firearm.
