Public's Help Sought to Locate a Missing 75-Year-Old Man

PORTLAND, Oregon - Update: Gordon Baird had been found and he is no longer a missing person.

PREVIOUSLY: The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help to locate 75-year-old Gordon "Hurley" Baird, missing since Tuesday May 23, 2017.

Baird is described as a white male, 5'11" tall, 165 pounds, and balding with white hair. Baird was driving a red 2007 Mazda pick-up with Oregon license plates 9-2-2-C-X-J.

Baird left his Southeast Portland home and has not returned. Family describes him as being in the early stages of dementia but generally healthy. Baird should know his name and can ask for help.

Anyone seeing Baird or the vehicle should call 9-1-1 so officers can check his welfare. Anyone with non-emergency information is asked to contact Detective Lori Fonken at 503-823-1081, lori.fonken@portlandoregon.gov.
