Police arrested 53-year-old Charles Bradford Curtis from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He did not live at the residence, but was visiting the couple who lived there.
Police say the victim (homeowner Daly) who is also the long-time boyfriend of the naked girl in the hot tub) told Curtis to leave. But Curtis was still naked and apparently refused to leave. Police say that during this verbal dispute, Curtis shot Daly. Curtis, who was naked in the hot tub is the one who is accused of shooting Daly.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the dispute and shooting. A handgun was recovered on scene. As of this morning, Daly remains in the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to Deputy District Attorney Alyssa Claseman.
Police say that Curtis was an long-time friend of Daly's girlfriend for more than 30 years, Claseman said. The girlfriend's name was not released.
Authorities have accused Curtis of attempted murder and first-degree assault. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail. Circuit Judge Tim Barnack set bail at $1 million.
