Murder Suspect Charged With Robbery and Shooting in Northeast Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon - On Friday, 22-year-old Stephen Blanchard was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, two counts of Robbery in the First Degree, and two counts of Assault in the Second Degree.

Blanchard's arrest was in connection with a robbery and shooting investigation that occurred on Tuesday April 18, 2017 near Northeast 20th Avenue and Northeast Alberta Street. Two people were injured in the robbery.

On Tuesday at about 5:30 p.m., several people were robbed and injured in the area of NE 20th and Alberta. One person was grazed by a gunshot while the other was hit with a club. The victims gave descriptions of two suspects.

Blanchard was taken to the Multnomah County jail. He will be arraigned on Monday April 24, 2017.
