Clark County Sheriff Deputies Arrest Burglary Suspect

At approximately 3:15am on 7/9/16, Clark County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the report of a burglary in progress at the Quick Shop Minit Mart located at 12604 NW 36th Ave. Deputy Tom Maxfield attempted to stop a vehicle he saw at the store, but the vehicle fled and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. For safety reasons, the pursuit was called off in the area of NW 99th Street and NW 36th Ave.

Several minutes later Deputy Jack Phane observed the same vehicle traveling eastbound on NE 99th Street near I-5. The vehicle speed was estimated to be 90+ mph. The car was traveling eastbound on 99th Street and crossed over Hwy 99, where the driver lost control and collided into a power pole. Deputy Phane arrived and saw the driver exit the car and run from the scene. Following a foot pursuit, Deputy Phane took the male suspect into custody.

The driver was identified as 37-year-old Cody Christianson. Subsequent investigation revealed that the involved vehicle was stolen from of the Kelso area.
