BEAVERTON, Oregon - WHO: The Salvation Army, Veterans

WHAT: Start your engines!! The Salvation Army Veterans and Family Center is hosting its 5th annual classic car Cruise-In! What to expect: Over 250 classic vehicles, fire trucks, police cars, a SWAT car, motorcycles and military vehicles, activities for kids, a Blue Grass Band, car/bike trophies, prizes, food, and a special ceremony to honor and salute Vietnam Veterans.

WHEN: Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 10:00AM -- 3:00PM

WHERE: Valley Catholic High School, located at 4275 SW 148th Ave. Beaverton, OR 97078

WHY: Funds raised from the event will go to support The Salvation Army Veterans and Family Center, the only known transitional housing center in the Portland Metro area to provide services to both the veteran AND their family. Most other shelters who serve veterans offer support services to only the veteran. The Salvation Army Veterans and Family Center provides additional resources to ensure that families stay together as they transition from homelessness to housing. This unique program offers families the opportunity to be a part of a community, together as a family unit. The Cruise In is a fun way for the Veterans and Family Center to engage with the community that has been so beneficial to its clients. It also offers the community the opportunity to learn about the transformational work happening in their neighborhood.

COST:
To register a car: $15 if registered by June 15th / $20 if registered day of the event (motorcycle registration fee is waived this year. But a donation will be gladly accepted)
