Vancouver Police arrest wanted felon after standoff

Vancouver, Wash. --On June 22, 2016 at approximately 5:30 p.m., Vancouver Police attempted to locate a wanted subject at 11614 NE 49th Street. The subject refused to exit the apartment and made threats to shoot officers. The SW Washington Regional SWAT Team was called to the scene to assist with taking the suspect into custody. During the incident several neighboring apartment units were evacuated and traffic was shut down in the area.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., SWAT officers were able to access the apartment and take the suspect, Ryan Boyce, 40, into custody without incident. Boyce was arrested on Felony Harassment, Malicious Mischief II-DV and also had several outstanding felony warrants. After evaluation by medical personnel. Boyce will be booked into the Clark County Jail.

There were no injuries related to the incident. Several residents of the apartment complex are temporarily displaced from their apartments due to the police activity and police are working with the apartment management to find temporary alternative placement for those residents this evening.
