Narcotics Seizure by Albany Police Department

ALBANY, Oregon - On Thursday, March 17, 2016, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Albany Police Street Crimes Detectives arrested 37-year-old Eric Nathaniel Agee and 28-year-old Shawna Marie Smith as the result of an ongoing investigation. Eric Agee and Shawna Smith were located driving a stolen vehicle at the Santiam Rest Area on I-5, just north of Albany. The vehicle, a 2011 Hyundai Tucson, had been reported stolen from Albany on March 10, 2016. 

At the time of their arrest, Eric Agee and Shawna Smith were found to be in possession of methamphetamine, US Currency, and a loaded firearm. The investigation led detectives to the Howard Johnson Inn Hotel located at 2250 Mission Street SE in Salem where Eric Agee and Shawna Smith had rented a room. Detectives executed a search warrant on the hotel and seized additional evidence of narcotics distribution. 


As a result of this investigation, detectives seized nearly one pound of methamphetamine, ?3/4 of a pound of heroin, over two thousand dollars in US currency, a loaded semi-automatic handgun, packaging material, scales, and related drug paraphernalia. 

Eric Agee and Shawna Smith were both in the Linn County Jail on the following charges: 
Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle 
Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine 
Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine 
Unlawful Possession of Heroin 
Conspiracy to Deliver Heroin 
Felon in Possession of a Firearm 

Members of the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Benton County Sheriff's Office and the Oregon State Police assisted in this investigation.
