GRESHAM, Oregon - At about 11:30 PM Monday evening, a passenger car collided with a MAX Train at E Burnside and SE Stark ST. Police say 22 year old Taylor Lee Fast of Gresham was traveling westbound Burnside approaching SE Stark.

According to a witness, Fast drove through a red light while attempting to negotiate a westbound turn onto SE Stark. At the same time, an eastbound MAX train had entered the intersection resulting in a collision. As a result, Fast's vehicle sustained extensive damage to the passenger side. Fortunately no one was injured. Officer Jeff Durbin, who was on scene and a senior member of the Gresham Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Team said, "There was major damage to this car. Had there have been a passenger in this vehicle, this crash would have resulted in serious injury or fatality."

At the conclusion of this investigation, Fast was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center under suspicion of DUII, Criminal Mischief II, and Reckless Driving.
