Sheriff's Office Employee Arrested for Off-Duty Misconduct

Michael Alexander was arrested and booked into the Canyon County Idaho Jail on charges stemming from a Meridian, Idaho criminal investigation.

On February 29, 2016, the Washington County Sheriff's Office received information from the Meridian Police Department alleging misconduct by Michael Alexander, a sergeant at the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The allegations were serious and involved sexual misconduct with a minor in the state of Idaho while off-duty. Shortly after learning of the allegations, Sheriff Pat Garrett placed Mr. Alexander on administrative leave.

On March 4, 2016, Mr. Alexander turned himself into the Canyon County Jail. He was booked into the jail and charged with two counts of Lewd Conduct with a Minor under Sixteen and one count of Enticing a Child Through use of the Internet or other Communication Device. He is held on $1,000,000 bail and remains on unpaid administrative leave.
