Suspicious Death Investigation Underway in Southeast Portland's Lents Neighborhood

On Sunday February 28, 2016, at 5:06 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 6900 block of Southeast 110th Avenue on the report of an adult male that was unconscious, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and were directed to the victim inside a home. Medical personnel confirmed that he was deceased.

Based on some preliminary observations, Homicide detectives and Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division have responded to the scene to conduct a death investigation, which is standard procedure for any death with suspicious circumstances. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner after an autopsy on Monday.

This investigation is in its early stages and no additional information is available for release. At this point, there is no information to suggest any risk to the neighborhood.
