Burning Apartment Building in Gresham

Portland Fire & Rescue responded to an apartment fire at 3180 NW Division St, Gresham, at 3:18 am. When Gresham Fire arrived, they saw flames coming from the roof of the 2 story, 4 unit apartment building. The building is part of a 15 building apartment complex and the fire was in building J. Crews kept the fire from spreading to any other buildings.

Gresham Police assisted fire crews with evacuating the residents and all 8 occupants in the building got out safely. There were 3 occupants in the apartment where the fire occurred, one suffered smoke inhalation and is being treated by Gresham Fire. One dog, one cat and one snake were also rescued from the apartment.

The fire was under control in 50 minutes and all 8 occupants are being displaced. Red Cross has been notified.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
